Great developmentally appropriate puzzle
This wooden puzzle is great! The wood is sturdy but not too heavy, and can withstand my toddler banging the pieces around. Iâm a fan of the bigger chunky knob, which is easier for my little one to hold on to as he develops his fine motor skill. Itâs developmentally appropriate for my one year old and heâs learning to match the animal shapes. The colors are fun but not over stimulating.

Absolutely love Melissa and Doug products. As a speech language pathologist this is such a great toy to target early language skills. My 18 month old loves to make animal noises and match up the animals. Very durable.

Great gift!
I bought this for a friendâs toddler, and it was a huge hit! The little girl loved working the puzzle, but also enjoyed playing with the puzzle pieces by themselves and making the animal noises. Would definitely buy again for a gift!

My baby loves this puzzle. The handles are the perfect size for her to grip. Puzzles are great for developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and problem-solving this is a great starter puzzle for your little one.

The edge of the board was quite sharp and not really safe for babies and child. Sawdust was found when the packaging material was removed. Very disappointed by this product.

The jumbo knob is very user friendly for toddler small hands who are still trying to master their hand eye co-ordination. I bought this for my son when he was 14 months and so his first way of playing with it was to take out all the pieces from it’s slot, so the jumbo knot is quite handy. He began to show interest in putting the puzzle pieces together only when he turns 17 months and have mastered it by 19 months, it is a very challenging puzzles because of the shapes but very enjoyable and appealing for toddlers because of it’s big size and good colours.I did not give 5 star because after 5 months of usage – banging, throwing, drooling, spillage and dropping food now and then, (every mom and dad with a toddler will relate to this) it needs to be cleaned and wiped regularly and the corner of some of the puzzle pieces started peeling, so it is not as tough and durable as it looks…I did not expect this from a Melissa and Doug toy products
