Description

Create Working Electronic Circuits Snap Circuits Jr (SC-100) comes with 28 components to create 100+ different electronic projects. The pieces, which include snap wires, slide switches, an alarm circuit, a music integrated circuit, and a speaker, snap together easily on the included plastic grid–no soldering required. Each piece is numbered and color-coded to make identifying them easy. Really cool tech, engineering, electronics kit for kids/teens
This is an amazing product. Super fun. The parts have lasted. They work well. The kids love it. Very educational. Keeps the kids engaged and learning. They enjoy learning with this product. There are several options for things that can be built and experiments that can be done. I recommend this for any tech loving kid or even teen. Engineering. Electronics. They’ll love this!

    Great entertaining learning tool
I donated these to my son’s 4th grade class as an end of year gift. I volunteered during the year teaching STEM once a week. We used these the last day of STEM and the kids absolutely loved it! The instructions for building various circuits are illustrated and the kids were able to build a ton of stuff. It was definitely a great investment.

Highly Recommended – A Fun and Educational Experience!
We recently purchased this for our 7-year-old daughter, and it’s been absolutely worth it! The materials are child-friendly, engaging, and age-appropriate. It’s not just another toy – it’s a smart investment in her development. We’ve seen a noticeable improvement in her.

    Awesome, high quality STEM toy!
I bought this for my 9 yo STEM minded grandson, and he absolutely LOVES it!! He sat down and played with it for a couple of hours, and my husband joined in because he thought it was fun as well. It’s a high quality toy, and I’m so glad that I invested in it! Highly recommend.

Really neat product, really bad packaging
Bought this (very far in advance) for my daughter for Christmas, as I was looking for something similar to the Radio Shack 200:1 type kits I had as a child. Unfortunately, those don’t exist anymore – but this is pretty close. The instructions could use some work, as they do not really describe what the components are doing and it feels more like teaching them to build Legos rather than read or understand electronic components and circuit diagrams, but I can understand how it might be the best option given the limitations of pieces being used. The old Radio Shack units had springs and everything was wired together with (sometimes hundreds!) of little jumper wires. Granted, I suppose not much is really wired that way anymore, and perhaps this more “circuit board style” is more appropriate for today’s kids (and adults!). Either way, she has really enjoyed playing with it and learning about dc current flow, how reversing polarity on the motor causes it to spin in different directions, and troubleshooting her circuit lead to an understanding of how diodes are only one way. It’s achieving it’s goal, and for that, it’s great. What’s not so great, however, is the packaging. It’s two cardboard and plastic molded trays, and just a slip cover. It’s very difficult to store, since anything other than sitting flat on a shelf will cause the slip cover to come off, the trays to fall, and pieces to go everywhere! It really needs a traditional, closing box. Will have to try to find something that is more appropriate to hold the pieces, which is unfortunate.

    Hours of fun
Hours of fun and learning. Pieces snap together with ease and functions as they should. Has helped my son learn a lot about how certain electronics work. A great buy for anyone who is interested in fun projects and electronics.

I have been eyeing this for sometime for my kids and when I saw this listed at an amazing price, very close to the prices available in the US, I grabbed it. It also reached me very quickly. Thanks Amazon. The product is designed to get kids excited about electrical / electronics around them. You could pull together a breadboard and several of these components at a much lower price. You would be still stuck with messy / a little unsafe soldering etc. or with ugly wires sticking around. While for some, that could be well be the ‘charm’ of ‘rolling up your sleeves’, I don’t believe that is a great first introduction. Because much of the bandwidth will be spent trying to ‘make it work’.Now this on the other hand, has really high quality board and parts. The manuals (there are 5 of them with this set!!) are clear and easy to follow. There is enough basic information on not just ‘what’ but ‘why’ you do them. For those who want more detailed information, you could easily pull more content online from the web.The way I chose to use it, was to get the kids (11 and 5 years) to pull together anything that caught their fancy from the hundreds available. They started attempting the very complicated stuff, but quickly agreed they would rather go in sequential order 🙂 The ‘experiments’ are organized in sequential order of difficulty / complexity. When they pulled it together, they got great satisfaction from making the bulbs flash / sirens beep etc. I would then ask them ‘why they think it happened’. So without getting into complicated IC circuitry which would be above them, they started understanding the need for logical gates and how circuits work or computers ‘think’. I then asked my 5 year old what logical ‘gates’ (OR, AND, XOR) etc. he would use for him and his friends to reach the play park and use various equipment (swing : only one allowed at a time, see saw : perforce needs two etc.) This was great fun for him and terrific learning as well. My 11 year old is now trying to seriously decide whether the ‘oscilloscope’ principle is best served for engineers or doctors.. and therefore what she should become when she grows up :-)Absolutely love it!! I wish I had these things when I was growing up.

My grandson always played with the snap circuits whenever he come over to my place ever since I bought it for him. He will do different projects from the one listed in the books.

Nice. Gave as a gift. Fun for her to use.

  13. QPS Adventurer

This I got as a gift for my partner. She is not technically inclined but the plans are easy to follow. Being able to build something that works and does something really encourages the user. It also gives me chance to explain what each component is doing to make the circuit work.If you have a kid interested in electronics or as in our case an older adult trying to learn about something new this is great. The kits themselves are well built and reasonably robust.
