An Absolute Must-Have for Early Math & Independent Play!
I am beyond impressed with the YHHYTOY Montessori Toys for 3-5 Year Olds (Learning Numbers)! This set has quickly become a favorite in our household, and I can genuinely say it’s made learning numbers and basic math concepts incredibly fun and engaging for my child. What truly stands out is how perfectly it embodies the Montessori philosophy – it’s hands-on, self-correcting, and encourages independent discovery. My little one, who is just turning four, immediately gravitated towards it. They love the brightly colored number blocks and the corresponding finger counting elements. It’s not just about memorizing numbers; it’s about understanding quantity and building that crucial number sense. The durability is excellent. The wooden blocks are smooth, well-crafted, and feel built to last through countless hours of play. I appreciate that they’re safe and non-toxic, giving me peace of mind. The pieces fit together nicely, making it satisfying for little hands to manipulate. The genius of this toy lies in its versatility. For younger toddlers (3-4), it’s perfect for finger counting, number recognition, and one-to-one correspondence. As my child gets older (closer to 5-7), we can easily transition into more complex math games, simple addition, and number sequencing. It truly grows with the child, offering long-term educational value. This set has significantly boosted my child’s confidence with numbers. They’re excited to “teach” me what they’ve learned and proudly count out loud. It’s a fantastic tool for both independent play and guided learning sessions. If you’re looking for an educational, high-quality, and genuinely engaging math manipulative toy that will stand the test of time, look no further. This YHHYTOY set is a brilliant investment in your child’s early learning journey and makes a fantastic gift for any little girl or boy!

My 4-year-old loves playing with this YHHYTOY Montessori math toy, and it’s made counting so exciting. The colorful number blocks are easy for her little hands to grip, and the finger-counting games keep her engaged for hours. It’s sturdy and well-made, perfect for preschool learning. I’m thrilled to see her math skills grow while she has fun!

Not a game, but good for self-guided learning.
The YHHYTOY Montessori Numbers Learning Toy is almost all wood (except for the cards), and is generally well made, with smooth finishes and corners. The main piece, the large board, is solid wood, probably pine or some other lightweight wood. The bases and “shelf” are of laminated wood. The hands are what first caught my attention, and they are a good idea. However, they are cut from medium thick felt and show signs of creasing after the initial few minutes of play, so I don’t know how long they will last. The fingers fold down and are held in place by hook-and-loop patches on the fingers and a circle in the middle of the hand. (Getting more than 3 fingers to stick to the central circle requires careful placement or it’s difficult to place additional fingers.) Like most Chinese hook-and-loop fabric, this is coarser than the name brand version and is harder to pull apart. Since there is only about 1/8” of space to grab on the end of the fingers, pulling them loose is difficult. If “teacher” is the one manipulating the fingers, that may be okay, but a child may have problems.I like the grooved-out numbers on the back of the hand board. That should be good for learning to “draw” the numbers, especially for kids who learn better by repetitive physical movement than visually. There’s a wooden stylus included, which runs nicely in the grooves, making it easy to correctly shape the numbers. The math signs included are +, –, =, and . At first I thought that the “less than” and”more than” sign (same tile, flip it over) would be useless, but it is good for showing comparisons (ex: 3 < 5).Some of the product page photos make the set appear to be a game, but it’s not. It’s simply a learning tool. The Numbers Toy is well designed and is an enjoyable way to help young children “get" numbers.Made in CHINA.

    Perfect!
Perfect learning “toy” for littles as they go into pre-k/kinder. My 4 year old absolutely loves it and loves to learn with it! Great quality, bright colors, exactly as pictured! 10/10 recommend!

    Solid wood, good idea, but…
Overall, this is a nice, wooden toy that helps visualize finger math for my kids as we are trying to go beyond 10 fingers. It has the ability to create some easy math problems and let the kids use the felt fingers, to move them “in” or out by attaching the velcro tips to the center or back out. What a fun idea. And just for that, if you aren’t inclines to craft something like this yourself, it’s actually worth it.Now my nitpick stuff. We have carpet, so when you put the hand counting part down to trace the numbers on the back, the velcro sticks to the carpet. That is somewhat annoying. Also, all the different parts and pieces are just loose and unless you keep the box (which we didn’t do) everything will disappear hear or there, wherever the kids “misplaced” them…so…we are mostly left with those hands now after a month.Like I said, overall, it felt like a durable, solid toy. But the value for money is something you might be able to do better with making your own.
