Your purchase has purpose!
Every purchase helps support the global nonprofit National Geographic Society in its work to protect and illuminate our world through exploration, research, and education.
GROW CRYSTAL COVERED TREES – Watch as crystals start to grow in minutes from the branches of the included evergreen, cherry, bonsai, and dragon blood trees like magic! The 6 trees will be fully covered in crystals in as little as 6 hours.
YOU CHOOSE THE COLORS – Color each tree any way you’d like with the 5 watercolor pens in the kit, and grow crystals in the colors you’ve chosen. It’s a craft project and crystal kit all in one!
REAL SPECIMEN INSIDE – After the crystals are grown, you’ll enjoy examining the genuine geode specimen in the kit! A full-color learning guide is included and is packed with fascinating facts about crystals. This STEM craft kit is unforgettable!
COMPLETE ACTIVITY SET – Because the crystals absorb the ink from the markers and grow in the colors drawn, this kit combines the science of a crystal growing lab with the creativity of an art project, making this a great activity for girls and boys.
HIGH-QUALITY EDUCATIONAL TOYS – We proudly make the highest quality hands-on science toys, and all our products are backed by exceptional service. If your experience isn’t stellar, we’ll make it right!

crystals will fall if you move it after itâs formed
My three year old has so much fun with this! Definitely can make a mess if you try and move it after the crystals are formed so set it wherever you want it to stay!

Lovely
really nice gift. It grows well, very pretty. Quite fragile to but I guess that is normal, if you bump it it falls apart.

Fun but…
Very short lived.. messy.. and these don’t last long. My kids enjoyed them but likely will not purchase again.. they make a huge mess so they are best suited for older kiddos in my opinion. They crumble at the slightest touch once they are created.. they didn’t really keep my kid’s attention long after the initial creation.

Kids were amazed
Great activity, easy instructions and I still canât figure out how this worked. Amazing trees grew over night and the kids couldnât believe they made them. They were very delicate so take your pictures fast before someone accidentally knocks one over and causes destruction beyond repair with lots of crying.

This is a very neat set. I had to help with applying the liquid to the trees but the kids coloured and assembled them. We read the “Learning Guide” and it had some neat facts about crystals. The instructions were very clear, not a complicated thing. Overall a really neat science type craft that gives cool results. The started growing right away some tiny little crystals. By the next morning there was a lot of stuff happening. These are very delicate! The crystals as of yet aren’t hard, kind of like marshmallow if you touch them they’ll squish. Also put them in a stable area to grow. We started on a table and every time the table was jostled pieces would fall off. We put them on shelves and they have been fine since. For the second tree (purple, blue and green) I used an eyedropper to apply the liquid in a more thorough manner as just pouring it over the tree causes spilling. I used a plastic container lid to keep everything contained so I would recommend having some kind of eye dropper and a lid like the ones in the pictures.

Es increÃble ver como van creciendo. De algunos se cae gran parte mientras se forma. Supongo por la forma del árbol pero se ven súper lindos. Pasado un dÃa se volvió más fuerte. No sé cuánto vayan a durar asà pero los amamos
