How to keep a toddler happy and quiet for an hour…
Give him this toy, show him how to interact with it, sit back and watch the wheels turn and the lightbulb come on. Then give a bit of positive feedback when he pushes a “dimple” in the correct direction…then EUREKA! My grandson loves this toy!And I appreciate Fat Brain toys! I love the name of the company for starters…the name implies their toys will grow children’s brains. And they just might be right. (Nerdy sidebar: Not that they get fat brains, but they create more synapses so there are tons more thoughts going on…connections that weren’t there before)First, I like the shape of the toy. It is asymmetrical and random…already allowing children to think outside the box. Then there are the bright colors…placed strategically opposite each other as complimentary and beside each other as contrasting (for the most part). And I’m a fan of the specific color choices. It’s a nice diversion from the typical primary colors that children usually learn first. With the dimple toy, depending on your kiddo’s age, you can choose to teach them “pink, green, yellow, blue, and orange”. Or if your child is a bit older and has already mastered those colors, you could expand their color palette by teaching them the following less common names, “fuchsia, lime green, cadmium or lemon yellow, cyan, and fluorescent orange”.Moving on to other characteristics, the size is small so it fits into little hands (or nicely into adult hands if you’ve ADD tendencies and need a ‘fidget’ toy). And it’s really clever (to a toddler) to discover that poking the dimples results in a dimple to be pushed on the other side. The dimples are made from silicone (I’m assuming food safe, but I’d need to go back and check…so don’t quote me on that), so they are potentially safe for young toddlers still exploring with their mouths. It seems durable as well. We’ve only had it for a few days, but it has survived several “accidental” drops/throws.If you’re on the fence deciding whether to buy this toy, I hope I’ve given you some of the facts to make a choice. All in all, I believe the price point matches the value of the item for it’s durability, entertainments value, and teachable moments. I’m certain your child’s brain will grow nicely while giving you a bit of a breather.

    KEEPS MY TODDLER ENTERTAINED!!
I don’t typically leave reviews, but this toy has been a game changer! It keeps my 18-month-old very entertained. We were in the car for 10 hours, and she kept coming back to it, playing for long stretches each time. It’s labeled for 10 months and up, but I’d say it’s especially great for 12 months and older — even my 5-year-old loves it! Honestly, I’ve found myself playing with it too. The different sizes make it more engaging than your average pop-it toy. Highly recommend!

    Great for travel
Love this for air travel. I bought this for my 1 year old and he loved it. 6 months later and he still likes playing with it. It has a nice pop and the different sizes makes it fun to play with. I like how it is easy for me to clean because planes are so dirty!

    Most definitely NOT for babies.
I bought this for my son because it came up in a search for autistic toys and sensory toys for babies. It is a pretty neat toy and I can see how it would appeal to those with sensory issues. However, it isn’t a baby toy, as advertised. My son isn’t old enough/coordinated enough to use it. This is more like a toy for a normal 4-5yr old. If it’s bought for sensory issues, probably more like 5-7yrs. I’m not sure why even ranking/rating for teething is an option. This isn’t textured and is thin/flat. I can’t imagine how it could be used as a teething toy or for teething babies. Reality: It’s a fidget device for sensory issues, for kids too young (or lacking the coordination) for a fidget cube or fidget spinner. I don’t recommend this for babies. I ranked 3 stars for giftable, because if you’re buying it for the right kid/age, it is. I ranked it 5 stars for easy to clean because it’s a thin, flat toy, mostly made of silicone and would easily wipe off.

    Fun Fidget
I like to pop the bubbles biggest to smallest. They have a very satisfying pop. It is very fun to play with. It is a good thing to do in bed before falling asleep. the bubbles are each a different size. I know it is probably intended for young children, but it is still a fun fidget for adults.
