You will die laughing! A favorite in our game closet.
Seriously our new favorite group game!! The concept is easy but GENIUS! We laugh sooooo hard every time we pull this out at game night. I have recommended this game to EVERYONE. It is easy to understand and anyone can play old or young. You will definitely get competitive but have so much fun at the same time.Concept is easy: Two teams, One person draws, One person explains HOW to draw the current card only using shapes and directions. The person drawing is trying to guess what it is before the other team guesses theirs. Love it!

Good choice for family game night!
This was on my sister’s wish list and after reading the description, I was a little skeptical. I wasn’t sure how much fun this would be but I figured I’d give it a shot. It would be a good break from our usual favorite, Cranium. It was a little slow at first since it takes some time to get used to giving commands, but once you play for a little while, it gets easier. The same goes for the person doing the drawing. Once you get the hang of it though, it is pretty close to Pictionary. One of the differences is that sometimes you can do a better job of guessing by listening to the person giving the directions than actually looking at the drawing. Sometimes it just doesn’t translate well from spoken word to drawing, so listening helps. One of the funniest parts is seeing what the other teams’ drawings look like after the round is over. It usually gives us some of the biggest laughs of the night. Let’s just say some people are much better direction givers than others. :)All in all, it is a fun concept for a game. It is a good change of pace from some of the games in our normal rotation, but it didn’t jump to the top of the list of favorites. It can be frustrating for someone who doesn’t do a good job of verbalizing what is in their head, but we’ll definitely play it again.

    Poorly constructed.
The game arrived with dried out markers. The plastic container designed to hold the cards is too small to hold the cards. The concept is interesting but the components are cheap.

    Hilarious game
This game is absolutely hilarious! Basically, the “director” has to tell the “artist” to draw a word (suitcase, house, cat, boxers, etc), by only using descriptors such as “draw a straight line,” “draw a circle,” add a small square to the bottom of the line,” “make wavy lines on the right side of the page,” etc. When you get people with varied artistic backgrounds, especially from different walks of life (think America, England, and Algeria in a room together), this game because hilarious. Definitely recommend as a party game.

Great and involving game for large groups
This is a great party game that keeps everyone involved at every turn. That’s important, because some large group games can get boring while players wait for their turn. Because everyone has a roll to play at every turn of the game, it works well for even up to 10 people.

    Backseat Drawing Game
I have played this game twice now since I purchased it and the first group loved it for the most part; the second group — not so much. Both groups found it a little frustrating trying to give instructions to someone who doesn’t know what they are drawing but the first group accepted it as part of the fun. It made all of us realize just how many ways what you think are clear instructions can be interpreted in many different ways, and I have found myself thinking since then about how I give instructions in everyday life and what can I do to be more specific and make them clearer to the person I am speaking to. I do recommend this game as an activity that causes a person to ‘try to get into the other person’s head’ and learn how to communicate more effectively. As a game, I found it to be fun, especially when it was my turn to guess what was being drawn. We had an engineer in our group who made good use of directions: left, right, down , up, upside down, etc., and this made the game easier for the person who is drawing. I suggest that players pay attention to what terms are allowed when describing an object being drawn since good application of these will lessen the frustration level for some. We will definitely keep playing this game with friends and family members, announcing the caveat at the beginning that it will frustrate some people. The red cards are quite a bit harder than the yellow ones, so I suggest sticking to the yellow cards until you get the hang of how to give great instructions. Note: you don’t need to be a good artist to play this game, but you do need to be a good listener. I gave it four stars due to some people finding the game a bit too hard, yet most people commented on how fun it was.

A very fun game for the young, and the young at heart!
I’m 40-something, and was introduced to “Backseat Drawing” at a friend’s game night. When I heard the rules, I thought it was more of a kid’s game — thought I’d be pretty bored. But we played for an hour or two, and it was FUN! I highly recommend this game.
