My 9 month old learned to drink from a straw in less than 30 minutes!
My 9 month old was still struggling to take a standard bottle or sippy cup and was in speech/feeding therapy and had a tongue tie revision. The speech therapist suggested that this is a solution for some families and we could try it in future sessions. I decided to take matters into my own hands and ordered this. Our little one learned to drink in one mealtime, taking about 3 ounces of milk with just a supportive squeeze from me. A few days later she was able to drink without any extra pressure from caregivers. She had never before managed to drink from a straw, and often spilled anything we tried to “pipette”. Since that time she is always trying to get our drinks too! This is the best brand of the two we have tried. We ordered a multi-pack from another company. The plastic is a little firmer, and the straw is harder, the cut of the straw is messier and the straw is almost too tight of a fit to get through the screw-on lid. I wish I had spent that money on more of this Honey Bear from Talk Tools because the quality cannot be matched. The plastic of the bottle is supple has the right amount of give. It feels like it will last longer. The tubing provided for the straw is softer and the ends are smooth as the cuts were more easily and carefully done. The straw tubing provided inserts easily from the bottom of the blue screw-on cap. It slides easily in the hole, so I can even slide it mostly in and close the lid for days when we are on the go and baby doesn’t complete her feeding. My infant does seem to be neurotypical, and the only diagnosis related to feeding baby has is posterior tongue tie. Baby was meeting all other milestones and even eats purees – just could not manage to coordinate the tongue to take bottles. I hope this helps other families and therapists considering a honey bear style therapy cup.

Great for those having difficulty drinking from a cup
I am not sure I can say enough good things about the Honey Bear cup. This cup is great for kids that are just learning to drink from a straw. This cup is used a lot for children with special needs that have difficulty drinking from a cup. The cup is made from plastic this is soft enough that you can squeeze the liquid up through the straw. This helps teach the child how to use the straw before the know how to suck. The straw is clear and flexible. The straw reminds me of aquarium tubing but is not so thick of material but has a larger opening. The cup comes with a flip open lid that will close and is spill proof. This cup will work with just about any liquids. I have used it with thickened liquids and the kids are able to get them up the straw because the straw has more of an opening than a regular straw.I have used this type of cup with a lot of kids have seen great results. This cup is affordable and seems to last a long time. I have had no complaints and parents have seen huge successes in learning to drink from a cup with this.

    Amazing
It arrived in perfect condition. I have a kiddo with sensory processing disorder and Autism. Between me and ot we have worked for five years (yep 5 years) trying to get him to drink from a straw. We have switched his ot about 8 months ago and she mentioned this cup. I tried on a weekend and within two day (yep two days) he was drinking from it. I would have paid anything for that. He loves the bear shaped cup. I love now he can drink from a straw. Now he is like the other kids in the class drinking from a straw. If I could have giving this more stars I would. This cup is amazing!!

Kid Loves It, But Makes Mess
I had been on the hunt for a good bottle to get my infant to drink water out off and so many on the market didn’t work for me. A good friend of mine (and speech therapist) recommended this bottle and it was an instant game changer. My son loves using it. The only problem is it’s very easy for him to loosen the handle, and thus spout allowing for the water to leak everywhere. It’s not a big deal when he is in his high chair but can be a hazard if he is taking it with him around the house. Still glad we were recommended this bottle, but just wish it would stay more secure.

    Do not get. Horrible quality.
I’m very dissatisfied with the cup. Dispite the fact it would probably work, I now refuse to use it for my daughter. I bought it and the straw looks like it was just tubing cut and still has writing on it. It smells like plastic and the awful smell doesn’t go away after washing multiple times. I left cold milk in it in the fridge and luckily tried it before giving it to my daughter bc it smelled like plastic and it tasted exactly how it smelled, I had to spit it out. And no it wasn’t spoiled milk. It was the plastic smell/ particles leaking into the milk. I do not see how this is food grade? The paint was also rubbing off the bears nose and eyes.

    100% worth it
For those of you who are on the fence, just go for it. My son is 11 months old, and I’ve been inconsistent with practicing drinking water. It was one of those things that I didn’t give much thought until one day I suddenly panicked. We tried a different straw cup and open face cup before this Honey Bear. It wasn’t clicking. I’ll continue offering the open face, but I am confident now that he is actually getting some water intake with the Honey Bear. Literally the first day using the Honey Bear my son was able to suck from the straw. I did follow the instructions that came with it. Today is day 2 and he is drinking water without any issues. If you’re looking for peace of mind, this Honey Bear delivers.

    Not really worth the hype
Leaving a neutral review on this – as I wanted it to work so much better than it did. Honestly, I just wasn’t impressed with the quality at all. Gave off a really strong plastic smell that I cannot imagine was appealing to my baby and took a while to get that smell to go away. The blue top didn’t last more than a couple weeks. It took one solid drop and the little piece that connects it broke. I wouldn’t mind this so much but now when I take the lid off the plastic is sharp and jagged – which isn’t ideal to have near my baby’s face. It’s easy to hold, and a good size. No issues with leaking. Very light. Cleaning it is a pain though.

  8. BV

The paint is flaking off. I just unboxed it and it’s like this. Very worrying as a baby might just put the bottle in her mouth and I test the paint. For the price, the quality doesn’t match . Kindly assist in replacing or refunding. thanks

While its handy for introducing sipping water to our young one( 7months); the bottle is made of plastic and starts to smell every next day. Need to be cleaned every day so as to get rid of the plastic smell.

  12. Anshika Goyal

It’s very expensive for the quality of plastic. But it does the job and doesn’t leak
