Love this no mess easy use
Absolutely love this . Letters are on the rod so there are twenty million blocks to keep track of. I have a daycare and I hate small pieces. I love to help the kiddos with pre reading letter recognition this is perfect.

Really great!
I bought this for my 4ywar old daughter and it has been great! She is able to use this independently after showing her a handful of times. I love how durable it is and great quality. It is difficult for her to put it all back in the box so we had to buy a different storage container for it but this is one of our favorite materials to work on when practicing letters and reading.

Easy Learning
Trying to get a toddler to focus is extremely difficult, but using this wooden spelling block toy has made it fun for my 3 year old. My daughter enjoys spinning the block wheels to match the word to the picture. I do like how the blocks vary in color and I love how each set of block caters to words with the same vowel. My daughter was not identifying letters before using this but now can identify at least her vowels.

Somewhat usefulâ¦
First off, I love how quickly Amazon shipped the package. ð¦ We received it with no problem.Unboxing the product, everything was exactly as it was advertised. Despite a slight damage to the packaging, everything came in pristine shape.I immediately tried this out with my five-year-old, and she loved it. However, when I was going through the cards, some became a bit confusing for her. Not because she didnât get it but because of the visual depiction on the cards. For example, âmomâ and âhugâ. After showing her the âmomâ card, she saw âhugâ and immediately said, âMom!â Understandably, once I corrected her, she was a bit confused, and a little sad that she had gotten it wrong. I had to explain to her that, technically she was right, but that the visual was a little confusing and it was ok. Maybe showing two friends (children) hugging would help. The second example of visual confusion were âbugâ and âpetâ. I love how for âpetâ, they showed various animals. She got that one right away! However, showing her the âbugâ card, she said, âLadybugâ and again was sad that I told her it was just âbugâ. I had to explain to her that she got it right, but that it was the word âbugâ, in general. It would have helped if they used various depictions of bugs to help the child understand what they were looking for the same way they depicted âpetsâ.The most important thing that I wanted to bring up was one of the row of blocks. I, personally, was not offended. If anything, it caught me off guard and I was pretty lighthearted about it. But one of the blocks spells out a pretty derogatory term. (The picture is shown above). I blurted the âaâ out for it to be appropriate to post.Iâm sure the company didnât mean anything malicious by it, but it is important to point it out just in case any other parents might get offended or taken off guard the wrong way.Lastly, there were a couple misrepresentation(s) with some of the visuals on the cards. For instance: the card, âvanâ shows a semi-truck. The card, âboxâ shows gifts. Which she called or recognized as gifts/presents. Showing the actual picture of a white van and a brown box, for example, would have helped a lot better. There are no instructions available. The blocks and the cards are both color-coded and you have to match the blocks to the cards via their color which can be a little confusing for children who are trying to work individually from the parent(s).All in all, I would give this product a 3.5 out of 5 stars. It is straight to the point and somewhat useful for a child.
