Mothers and babies are at the heart of all we do. As a mom, I wanted our goods to reflect my enthusiasm for keeping babies’ well-being.
How did we get our start?
I started babywearing when my first child was a few days old because it was the only way to keep her content and happy. I was never very happy with the products I used so I started making wraps and slings when my second child was born because I could not find a sling or wrap that was made from the right fabric. They were either too stretchy, too stiff or too hot. I also couldn’t find any designs I liked.
What makes our products unique?
Our slings and wraps are specially woven for babywearing, the fabrics will not stretch over time, and they hold the baby firmly in place but have just the right amount of give so they are easy to put on and comfortable to wear. They are all individually handwoven and hand-dyed with plant-based dyes. Also, all of our fabrics are made from 100% natural fibers, so they are all very breathable, comfortable, and lightweight.

I am very passionate about babywearing and I strongly believe in the benefits!
When a baby can see the world from where their parents do (rather than from far below, like in a stroller) their senses are stimulated and their attention is engaged all while feeling safe and secure. Not only does this extra stimulation benefit brain development but the baby quickly develops a sense of security and trust when carried close in a baby wrap or sling. Babywearing is good for cognitive and social development of the child according to some studies.
Hip Baby Wrap is a small women-owned business in Miami Florida. Our wraps and slings are all individually handmade in cooperatives under fair trade practices in India. Our business supports communities small villages and helps provide jobs for mothers and families to be able to work out of their homes. All of our products are made with non-toxic dyes, locally sourced high-grade cotton and electricity-free manufacturing.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I have a ring sling from another brand that was triple the price. I have to say I enjoyed this one better and cannot believe it was only $39. My Velcro baby loves being in this week and for naps. High quality material. My only frustration is that it’s hard to get it adjusted and such without someone helping me adjust it, especially over my shoulder, once I’m holding the baby and the strap needs to be fixed.

The colors were not what I was expecting.
I had this saved in my cart for almost 2 years. I had never spent so much on a wrap before but I was so I love with the colors (Sea color). Finally after another pregnancy I decided to get it for myself for Christmas. The carrier itself is a nice quality and has cute tassels. Havenât used it with a baby yet but looks good. The colors however, were not at all like advertised. Which was the only reason I decided to splurge. I wanted something beautiful to wear. Instead of a pretty mustard yellow there was brown, the purple also much darker and even a navy looking stripe that wasnât there. So I feel pretty sad the I splurged on this and itâs not at all like the pic. I will keep it cause I will absolutely use a ring sling with my new baby, just wish it wants the bright dreamy carrier I expected it to be.

Perfect for while pregnant
Great at multiple stages. So fast to set up/get on and definitely gives you a spare hand.I got pregnant again and this is the only carrier that feels comfy with my growing belly. She can sit as a hip hold like in the product picture and there is only cloth again my stomach. My little one still needs to be carried and hates strollers-this saves my arms.

A godsend!my super wiggly 1 year old never really lasts long in other carriers, but this one makes her as zen as the Dalai Lama!She could stay in it forever, able to observe everything we do, snuggled but not feeling constrained!The sling was easy to regulate, easy to hop hop off, easy to share with my husband whose body shape is the opposite than mine, and he loves the sling too, he can even cook with baby on his hip!The sling is also soooo light, so as soon as Covid19 quarantine ends, we’re bringing it out too!Took a year to figure it out, but this was definitely the best babywearing device we’ve ever got!
