Cannot recommend enough!
I got these for my 6 year old, and she opened the package, took off for the dining room and got to work without any consultation from me. She worked happily for a couple hours on this project making beautiful, dazzling flowers, and it wasn’t until I needed to clean off the table for lunch that I realized we didn’t handle this the best way. It was our first diamond art project, so I didn’t know what I didn’t know.My daughter had cut open a bunch of different colors of diamonds, and they were all in little piles all over the table – some mixed together, but none of them were still labeled.So if you are new to this, let me enlighten you: the little bags that the diamonds come in are not resealable. The kit does come with a couple resealable bags you can put diamonds in, but not nearly enough for every color. We ended up ordering the plastic containers specifically for diamond art, and it works perfectly for storage and quick cleanup. The trick is to sort and label all the diamonds BEFORE you start the project to eliminate problems down the road.We also learned to save the plastic piecethat comes on top of each flower in case you do not finish it right away. Reapply it to the unfinished section of flower, and Viola! No dust, hair, or anything else (in our case, sand) will stick to the flower (making it harder for the diamonds to stick).This craft was incredibly popular in our home. That actually is where my only other complaint comes from: there are several flowers, but only one diamond applicator… so I had other kids longingly staring at my 6 year old because they too wanted to do this project, but the lack of diamond applicators (we call it “the pen”) made it impossible for them to all to it together. I did, however, order more diamond art projects, and they provided HOURS of peace in my home. I cannot reccomend it enough – even my 11 year old son got really into it, which surprised me since he typically hates all things crafty.And now, I have a beautiful, sparkly vase of flowers as the centerpiece of our dining room table. This was a great project, fun for all my kids involved (ages 6 to 11… my 4 year old did some too, but needed lots of assistance, unlike the older kids), and I would absolutely get this again!*the attached photo is the partially completed project. Excellent value for the money at 12:99. Our nine-year-old daughter loved working with this little kid. She’s already asking for another one. She didn’t need a little bit of guidance to get going, but once she figured it all out she was able to complete everything on her own. Comes with everything you need.
